Centennial School Anniversary Activities: Expert Lecture - The Application of Artificial Intelligence and Satellite Technology in African Agriculture

On 31 May 2024, our school had the honor of inviting Mr. Philip Ng to deliver a lecture titled "The Application of Artificial Intelligence and Satellite Technology in African Agriculture". Mr. Ng is the Chairman of EBZ, Chairman of Smart Farming Technology, and Vice Chairman of the EBZ Consilium Education Foundation. He has previously received the 2014 CES Innovation Award, the 2017 Alibaba Hong Kong Top 10 Outstanding E-commerce Award, and the 2019 Hong Kong ICT Award.
Low agricultural productivity is one of the important factors contributing to poverty in the African continent. On that day, Mr. Ng shared how he has utilized the advancements in artificial intelligence and satellite technology to train local farmers to use his company's AI-powered farming techniques, bringing new opportunities for the development of African agriculture.
On this auspicious centennial occasion, Mr. Ng, on behalf of EBZ, also presented our students with hydroponic columns, hoping that they could learn to utilize technology and work with determination to improve people's livelihoods.
