“Free Roam VR + Reading” Immersive Reading Day
Date: 07/05/2026
In celebration of World Book Day on April 23, the School Library, the Information and Creative Technology Team, and Joint Publishing (Hong Kong) Electronic Press jointly organized the "VR Big Space + Reading" Immersive Reading Day in the school hall on May 7, 2026. The event featured various information technology booths, such as VR and AR, designed to elevate the reading experience. For instance, the "VR Big Space" successfully brought the scenes of the science fiction classic Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Seas to life. By simply putting on VR headsets, students transformed into story characters and embarked on an adventure into a virtual deep-sea world.
Beyond the "VR Big Space," the school hall was packed with a diverse range of engaging stations, including AR interactive games, digital reading screens showcasing e-books and audiobooks, hands-on STEM handicraft workshops, a specialized 3D pop-up book exhibition, and a themed photo-taking zone. Students fully immersed themselves in these dynamic activities, exploring the booths with endless enthusiasm and gaining valuable insights into the future of interactive learning.

Students plunge into a virtual deep-sea world using advanced VR equipment, experiencing the written text in a completely immersive environment.

In the AR interactive zone, students role-play historical figures in a virtual space, utilizing motion gestures to creatively assemble classic poetry.

Students flip through intricately designed 3D pop-up books, sharing moments of pure joy and discovery.

Within the virtual landscape of the AR interactive zone, students actively research and explore fascinating facts about various wildlife species.

Seated comfortably in the reading zone, students browse a wide selection of physical books while diligently completing their reading task sheets.
