The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government has always actively promoted Hong Kong as an international innovation and technology hub and a gathering place for top talent, while also placing great importance on youth development. On September 16, the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation launched the "Master Lectures for Children" program at the Hong Kong Palace Museum, championing the theme of "Youthful Ambition: Daring to Ask the Sky for Its Stars."
The event gathered top experts and scholars from various fields, including semiconductor materials scientists, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Yang Deren, archaeologist and former leaders of the Yinxu archaeological team Tang Jigen; experts in Popularizing Aerospace Science and senior engineer Lei Zhanxu; computer scientists, deputy vice chancellor of The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology Guo Yike; marine biologists, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences Jiao Nianzhi, and the chief designer of the Chinese Lunar Exploration Program, and Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering Wu Weiren, who provided lively professional explanations on-site. Over 300 students from Hong Kong came together to embark on a journey of technological and cultural exploration under the guidance of these experts from different fields.
Our school was also very honored to invite academician Jiao Nianzhi, an expert in marine ecology and resource environmental effects, to give a special presentation at the school on September 15, titled "Marine Microorganisms." Through this lecture, students not only gained a deeper understanding of the nation’s achievements in major construction, outstanding traditional culture, and cutting-edge technology, but also developed a strong interest in scientific exploration.
