"Fun with Classical Chinese" Drama Education Programme

Classical Chinese has often been perceived as dry and difficult to understand. To make learning Classical Chinese more engaging for students, our school arranged for junior secondary students to participate in the "Fun with Classical Chinese" drama education program. We invited the drama group from Class 7A to perform two adapted plays, "The Oil Seller" and "Mulan's Poem." The chapters from the textbook were transformed into lively and interactive drama performances. In addition to enjoying the plays, students found it easier to grasp the content of the texts, enhancing their interest in reading Classical Chinese passages.
