The Light of Southern Guangdong: Qingyuan Study Tour

This Qingyuan study tour began with visits to the Liantang Lion Dance Cultural Base, the Lianshan Zhuang and Yao Nationalities Museum, and the Liannan Yao Nationality Museum, offering students an intuitive look into the history and traditional culture of the Zhuang and Yao ethnic groups. Next, students underwent safety and legal education at the Yang Yujiang Anti-Drug Education Base to strengthen their awareness of the rule of law. They then visited the Xinxicun Committee to witness firsthand the integration of rural development and unique ethnic characteristics.

 

The journey culminated at the Zhuang and Yao Splendor Heritage Base, where students actively participated in hands-on activities, trying their hand at Zhuang brocade weaving and crafting their own traditional Intangible Cultural Heritage "Zhuang Brocade Ponies." In the evening, our students joined a lively campfire party, showcasing the traditional Yao Long Drum Dance they had learned. Singing and dancing together, they enjoyed a truly immersive experience of ethnic traditions.

 

By seamlessly bridging the classroom with practical experience, this study tour not only broadened our students' horizons, boosted their cultural confidence, and strengthened their national identity, but also enhanced their hands-on skills and spirit of collaboration. Learning through experience and growing through exchange, our students truly achieved meaningful insights through every step of their journey.
